CHICAGO, IL. (JUNE 30, 2022) The Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce (HPCC) announces Executive Director Wallace E. Goode’s resignation, effective June 30, 2022.  “Since 2011, Wallace has served as the Executive Director, nearly doubling the size of the Hyde Park Chamber membership and establishing the Chamber as a major resource for the Hyde Park business community,” Troy Ratliff, HPCC Board President said.

During his tenure, he has relocated the Chamber office to the Hyde Park Bank building on 53rd Street, increasing its visibility and positioning the Chamber in the “Crossroads of Hyde Park.”

Effective July 1, 2022, Phil Moy has been named as the new Executive Director. Moy was serving as the Operations Manager for the Chamber and previously served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Executive Board and as a volunteer since 2011.

“We are happy that Phil has agreed to step into the Chamber’s leadership role as we continue to increase our service to the community. With the enthusiastic support he will receive from the Chamber membership we are confident that Phil is the right choice for the Executive Director position,” says Ratliff.

Moy’s hiring comes as Chicago is still dealing with the impact of COVID 19, issues with staffing, security, and a chaotic economic environment. “Now is the time to reflect, re-evaluate, re-group, and strategize for operating in the return of a vibrant business environment. We have start-ups and established businesses looking to locate in Hyde Park, as well as some high visibility development projects.” Moy said.

Phil is a native of Chicago’s South Side, growing up in the Gresham neighborhood. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Graphics from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). His career includes a wide range of areas within technology, from education as an instructor at IIT to sales and marketing in technology and digital media from startups to the large corporations of IBM and Microsoft.  A serial entrepreneur, Phil has created and worked with many startups in graphics, web development and food service establishments.

He has served on various boards including the Saint Thomas the Apostle Elementary School, St. Walter’s Choral Parents, the International Press Club, and the Little Walter Foundation.  Phil is an avid woodworker and a member of Chicago Woodturners, a chapter of the American Association of Woodworkers (AAW).
